This is a very toned-down type of interview. We had a few beers at the Cano brother's house 2 nights ago, and in the process we got an interview with Alex, and instead of just me asking the questions--Ben and Paulo Cano, and Brandon Barron helped me out with some questions. Cheers to Gerbs.
(Paulo Cano): How often is your last name misspelled? (Pedroza)
ALEX) Just about every time—my friends never get it right either. Everyone spells it with an “S” instead of a “Z”
(Ben Cano): How many squares can you manual?
ALEX) Umm… 25, give or take haha. What’s the world record? That’s what I’m aiming for.
(Paulo Cano): How often do you shave?
ALEX) Um, pretty much every day.
(Paulo Cano): Can you darkslide?
ALEX) I’m working on that one, my homie Tony (Malacara) has them on lock though--he used to win free boards at demos for doing them back in the day when we were little, hyped.
(Brandon Barron): Best freestyle trick?
ALEX) Def. the pogo
(Ben Cano): Oldest memory of skateboarding you have?
ALEX) Um, it had to be when I kickflipped the 4 stair at Rodeo’s right here in the marcos for my first time. I probably called up like 4 of my homies to tell them I did it. I think I had like bleach blonde spiked hair too, just the tips.
BB) Who’s hooking you up right now?
AP) Well basically, I’m “muffin” flow with Tum Yeto, and Utility board shop.
BB) What’re you filming for right now?
AP) Overdose, a Cameron Sanchez film (Trailer on YouTube)
BB) What else you got going on right now?
AP) Looking for a job—no love though, no love.
