Wes Beucler interview coming soon.

Wasted Wednesday's

"A real man sleeps where he falls -- Rat is as real as they get."

Starting today is the birth of a new day. Wednesday's official title is now, "Wasted." This can mean anything. You can sit around and do nothing all day, because then it will be wasted. Or you can buy a case of beer, and start getting hammered at 8 in the morning--Wasted. But your best bet is to probably get off the computer, grab a couple tall boys, roll up a nice, big, fat, tight one, jump on your skateboard and not waste your day at all. Why waste your day just because it's a Wasted Wednesday. This can mean anything. It can even mean to waste, a wasted day. A-ha, loopholes. Too baked, good morning, good night.

Emoney Monday's (on Tuesday)

I'm not sure who's seen this or not, but holy shit. Cody Subido basically shuts down PQ park, and Eric Bennett has the footage to prove it. Check this out. Come back next Monday for more Emoney clips.

Erpdate

Once again the rain waited until the weekend. It's 5:30 a.m., and I'm on my second cup of coffee, listening to the rain hit my window. It's dark, but the noise reminds me that the downfall continues. My mission with Wes might get post-poned once again. Let's see what the weather decides to do by noon.

I've ironically been busy with a lot of shit right now. I'm unemployed but working more than I ever have.

Like most months, I'm digging myself a hole to hide in until March. (Or at least until the OVERdose premiere).

-Ben Cano snapped this one-

Taylor Orman's interview for his company 6gun is complete minus a picture or two. That will be posted, if not by the weekend, then by the beginning of next week.

Thanks to the homies who still lurk this -- makes me feel like I'm not completely wasting my time, but I'd still do it anyways. Beginning in March, I'm hoping to bring some structure to the swamp. If not though, who cares?

Emoney Monday's (even though its Thursday)

Eric Bennett (check his interview in the Archives) is currently in the last stages of filming for his video, Wheels Of Misfortune.

He has so much throwaway footy, that is so ripping, and luckily he makes little montages and ironically titles them, "crud" or "trash" when in reality... they're straight butta'

So check out Eric's new tasty trash -- for your viewing pleasures.

www.Youtube.com/Emoney666 <----- Lerk his shit too.

Yep.

Yo ... so if you ever get bored lurking on this website, always remember to look back at "Older Posts," or simply go back to 2009, or early 2010 for some interviews. There's been a fair share of rad words and epic photos since I've started this thing so lerk into the Archives and catch up!

"San Elijo trails - merking shit"

Anyways...

Taylor Orman interview is coming within the next few days.

Wes and I are heading out Saturday to finalize his interview, and I'll do his interview personally, after a few cold ones get cracked, na'm sayin?

Cameron Sanchez's newest skate flick, OVERdose, is premiering the 25th of this month! (Check a few posts down for the flyer). I'll be covering the story and interviewing a few dudes on-the-spot; should be a good time.

I have 2 secret interviews coming up either at the barest peak of February, or early March. I'm pretty hyped on these two interviews...

And lastly -- I'm going to start doing "The Most Known-Unknown," articles soon. It's basically going to be short interviews, with shitty pictures (that I take), with some of my close friends who kill it at skateboarding and don't even know it. These will be entertaining, man.

Well fuck ... lurk all those pictures below, check out the older interviews from the past, go to the OVERdose premiere, and keep checking in. Does anyone even read this still?

IT'S A BEAUTIFUL DAY, IM GETTING OFF THIS COMPUTER AND GOING STRAIGHT TO LA PLAYA! ADIOS COMPAS.

Oceanside Pier

Mixing together my unemployment with my ADD... and adding a touch of my OCD, I seem to find myself all over, all the time. These pictures are from a random hour or so that I spent down at Oceanside one afternoon. There were a lot more photos but these were some of my selected favorites. I want a sailboat. Enjoy?

"watch out now..."

Picture Day

10 randomly selected pictures from the Swamp Cam. I'm going to start doing this a few times a week. Who cares? I know.

I head out so much, and take so many pictures, but like most people... they just sit in my camera's memory card, or my computer's hard drive.

Putting two and two together, I realized I might as well just post them here... SO, with that said... peep game:

Some photos are rated R, so if this offends you, then go away.

"OVERdose" Premiere, Feb. 25th

Cameron and the OD crew spent over 2 years making this flick. It's jam packed with pure, straight, 100% skateboarding with some of San Diego County's raddest skateboarders. Cameron's filming and editing are amazing, and go to www.overdoseskate.com to check the trailer ... The premiere should be pretty eventful. I'll be there early as fuck taking pictures and trying to get some interviews... so don't be wack---say what's up if you see me!

Taylor Orman Interview coming soon -- www.the6gun.com

Wesley Beucler has been out shooting photos these past 2 weeks for his interview, but still doesn't have that cherry on top. His interview will be up sometime in February though.

Besides that... March is looking buttery.

sneak peaker: Paul Cicneroz... "the most known unknown" article coming soon. I've never done anything like this so it should be rad. If you know Paul, you're hyped.

Soggybones Magazine

(Justin "Jughead" Allport getting barreled)

So many of you may not be aware, but as of recent I've been asked to join the Australian based, Soggybones Magazine crew to do their skate editorial. Justin Ward who co-founded Soggybones, along with his brother Luke, does the final edits on the mag, contributes stories, and basically watches over EVERYTHING, which if you aren't aware, can be a bit stressful. He was nice enough to send me this blurb on Soggybones, despite his busy schedule, to lay down what the mag is about, where to find the articles, and everything else in between. So below, are the words of Justin Ward, and almost every photo was taken by Soggybones senior photographer, Russel Ord, who in my opinion is honestly one of the raddest photographers I've ever seen.

Check out: www.soggybones.com. Website should go live in March.

So anyways, this is a big deal for my little Swamp Blog, so if you guys want a real story to read about, here ya' go:

(Asher, Chenee, and Justin Ward - Soggybones)

Written by: Justin Ward -

Soggybones is not just another mainstream Surf/Skate and Lifestyle publication. We produce a quality and timeless product in an environmentally friendly online format. The magazine is released on a quarterly basis as an attractive and stylishly designed 'electronic coffee table' addition that fervently comes without an expiry date. Soggybones wittingly and often obnoxiously goes against the grain and flow of the mainstream. Instead of sticking with the masses it haughtily illuminates the shadows of society with a stalwart intention of exposing the talents of emerging passionate individuals. Our concentration focuses on the real world; real people, real stories, real humour, real passion, real inspiration and real opportunities. We believe in superior and personalised design reflective of each individual subject, and present all of our stories in an uplifting, identifiable, progressive and artistic fashion.

(Justin "Jughead" Allport, team rider - Russel Ord Photo)

4 free online editions per year along with a Limited Edition hard copy, coffee table mag, which is to be released at the end of each year and will be available from select specialty stores throughout the country and also on our website http://www.soggybones.com (site will be live soon).

I can’t reveal first edition details, but expect raw international stories covering surf | skate | snow | lifestyle | music | art | photography | film and some very tidy rigs.

(Gotcha mate; fast cars make fast deaths)

To contribute, swing enquiries to justin@soggybones.com. Models, filmmakers, photographers, surfers, skaters, snowboarders, designers and writers are all welcome to enquire. Photogs’- best to direct enquiries to our senior photog and photo editor Russell Ord. Russell@soggybones.com. Make sure you ask Russ for a copy of our Photo Submissions Protocol.

(Some of the SB crue @ a bowl outside of Perth)

All other enquiries, head to our website, www.soggybones.com or send enquiries to info@soggybones.com

Advertising positions are limited and still available, but positions are filling fast. Advertising for 3 Months only, on the website and within the e-mag pages are completely FREE. You don’t get much for free these days, so go on, make the most of our special offer. Contact Luke@soggybones.com for all ad related enquiries.

To follow us on Facebook, type in Soggybones Magazine in the search bar and we’ll surely pop up.

(Luke Ward - co founder, sketched up)
So you know, our entire senior team (minus Brian, our Californian Skate Ed.) just returned from a four-day trip, somewhere within West Oz to shoot the cover. The end product is unlike any cover I have seen before and we all cannot wait to release the juicy produce to the world.

I hope you all enjoy reading and support Soggybones Magazine. Out March 2010.

(Soggybones Offices and headquarters out in Australia)

Quotes from Editor Justin Ward:

“Creating a quality magazine has always been one of my strongest ambitions.
In thought it’s easy enough, but actually creating something that people want to read is harder than you think. We’re a new mag, we’re young and we’re just going to give it our all and have some fun along the way. If crew hate on us, I’ll be stoked. At least they aren’t just jumping on another bandwagon. Our team is over reading the same old shit about the same old people. Sick of hearing the negative issues surrounding our world. We’re tired of the sheepish attitudes people adopt in attempts to clutch popularity and status and I’m sure shit loads of people from all corners of the globe share the same thoughts and opinions. “

(Yallingup Pro surfer Jay Davies blasting a mammoth air)

“The main reason why we started up Soggybones is to provide a platform for young creatives to showcase their talent. Studying art, photography and journalism etc is one thing. Passing the units isn’t even the hardest part, finding work after all of the study is over is where the going gets tough. Big companies aren’t that interested in giving a young guy/girl a crack. ‘Come back when you have a few years of experience,’ the owner says. Not sure how people are going to gain proper experience if they can’t even get a foot in the door. Soggybones doesn’t close doors to young crew. You don’t even need a degree. I think attitude, determination and passion are more important than a piece of paper. Our doors are open and we’re here to help young talent grow. “

(Luke Ward - rock'n and roll'n)
“Soggybones isn’t your typical mag. We don’t have big budgets and big corporations don’t control us. What you see and read is what we care about.
We aren’t interested in promoting the rich and famous, we stray from those types of characters. Soggybones will spotlight the crew who work hard for all the right reasons. These people are passionate and they do what they do, because they love it. They are individuals, they are real and they are our inspiration. “

“The day you see competition reports and competitive talk in Soggybones is the day I’ll quite writing. That shit isn’t what surfing and skateboading is about. I find competition boring and it brings out the worst in peoples personalities. Who want’s to be told where to surf or where to skate and how to do it? Not me. Soggybones is the same. We’re doing what we want and how we want to do it.”

Soggybones Don’t Break.

//end Justin Ward//

So I hope you all enjoyed the pictures, the words, and the heads up.

I want to thank Justin and the entire Soggybones crew for letting me do this, and I hope you all enjoyed. I love what these dudes are all about and I'm stoked on the future. When the website goes live, believe me, you all will never hear the end of it.

I need more coffee, and it's time to go skate. ADIOS!

So as some of you may know, my good friend Bobby Johnson has recently made the move out to the big apple itself, New York. To make a long story short -- It snowed one of these past nights out there in the city, and Bobby decided to walk around and snap a few pictures. I think the pictures are rad, plus I've been wanting to post something N.Y. related since Bob's out there, and now has the inside scoop. So here's a few pictures for your viewing pleasures. Thanks Babs.
