Monday Fullpipes
Well some might call last weekends festivities "old news" by the time next weekend rolls around, but I sure don't. Ben (Cano) has the Swamp Cam filled with ripping photos from last Friday up until this past Monday, and I have so much shit to talk about. BUT we're having technical difficulties (if that's even what you want to call it), with uploading the photos so for now it's still a no-show.
Luckily, there are kids out there who have this photography stuff down to a science, so the goods still come through.
On Monday (April 19th) I lurked out with Ben Cano, Stewart Kleinsmith, and Chris Dietrich to the Vista streets, and then towards the Oceanside Valley (The backroads to Bishop Park). Stewart and Chris had both heard of a full-pipe that was sitting in a construction site on the side of the Highway. After a short walk on the side of the road, we lurked onto the construction site and hit the full pipe. It was good sized, and accompanied by many smaller pipes as well. Those were a lot harder to skate.
We were probably only here for 20 minutes tops... but it was WAY worth it to say the least. Sometimes just cruising out to your local park simply gets old, and the spots you've been skating for 8 years age pretty fast as well. That's why I get a kick out of finding a random spot, walking on the side of a highway, cruising into a construction site to snap some photos, skating this huge metal pipe, and cruising out with a huge smile, and that ripping feeling of accomplishment.
Stewart got a rad fakie thruster on this spot, but I haven't seen the photo. If I get my hands on it -- I'll post.
