I haven't been to Knob Hill for a long time. In my book, this school is legendary. Everyone has that spot where you grew up skating, the first set of stairs you blast down, or just that schoolyard you'd spend weekends at shredding for fucking hours. For me, that spot is Knob Hill. It was the first school I've been arrested at, too. (When I was 15. Mom was hyped.) But today we sailed through our hours of shredding perfectly. I showed up with Anthony (Robles) early in the day while waiting for our friend Alex to show up. While waiting, our friends Waylon, Stuart, and Yogi all hopped over the fence and were just as surprised to see us, as we were them. And moments later, the homies Brandon (Barron) and Paulo (Cano), came lurking through the hallways to greet us with high fives.

Besides Alex bashing the fuck out of his dome, the day was tight. Yogi blasted a back 180 over the rail for fun. (My bad on no photos), and Waylon and Alex got a piece of the gap out ledge. Paulo hopped across the infamous roof gap, and everyone just got to chill hard. Knob's fucking sick. There was even a new pack of shredder kids murdering the 8 when we got there. I saw a 360 flip go down by like a 12 year old, and some other homie was blasting front 360's over the handrail for giggles. Who the fuck are these kids! And where do they get so good?

When offered a chance to get away, what else can you do besides just go. This past weekend myself, Alex Pedroza, and Bobby Johnson all went for a ride up the 101 to crash in Santa Barbara for a few days. We didn't have much in mind to accomplish besides party, skateboard, and relax all weekend. If that was our assignment, then I'd say we passed. With flying-fucking-colors. We stayed in Isla Vista for two nights... and if you know what Isla Vista is, then you know what I'm talking about. Despite all the jocks, and abercrombie-zombies that poison that place, the chicks flood the streets and people drown in alcohol all fucking night. I got about 5 hours of sleep from Friday to Sunday. It was ripping. Oh yeah, and we skated, too.

Behind the scenes, not really.

Pedroza got wheel-bite where his board is. And this is where he ended up.

Bob is a film student at NYU. He's in the process of making a "strictly HD montage" stacked with skateboarding, and the lifestyle surrounding it.

Meeting up with Angel was tight. He's a straight fucking local up in Santa Barbara, and he was the key to all our spots, all our food stops, and everything else. I was lucky enough to see him on Sunday and catch one last session with him before heading back home. Every time I cruise up there Angel has a new trick, a sick story, and new nug. Always hyped to share, always hyped to skate, and fucking just kills it at doing it right. Until next time Angel. No bammer!
