Haha. I figured that'd be an alright intro to the intro. I just got done driving what feels like 8,000 miles and back with Wesley over here. BUT prior to this occasion, Wes and I have known one another for a long time. He’s pretty much always been one of my favorite skaters, and he’s younger than me. But these days, what does being old have to do with skateboarding? Absolutely nothing, I know. And I’m not even old actually, I'm young... so WesTley over here isn’t that old either. Ya catch my drift?

I did this interview because I’ve been waiting over 6 months to get it. One night I was finally over it and sent him every one of these questions via facebook. Even though I see him all the time, and could have easily met up with him, I decided this would be better. He even asked if we could do it in person after a few buskets were cracked, and a jaybird was burnt... but I said nope. Do it now. And just like the good man he is, Wes did just that. So this is what I (along with everyone else) was left with.

I mentioned to Wes that here at Swamp Ass (aka my fucking bedroom) there are no rules. I can interview him without one skateboarding photo, and I can interview him 30 more times if I want to after that. And I probably will. By the way. This is un-edited, and straight out of my inbox. You can call it lazy, or you can call it personal.

So ladies and germs check it out, this is my friend Wes. He’s your favorite person’s, favorite person.

Wesley. What the fuck have you been up to lately?
i just got back from a soggybones trip to san fran, but basically ive just been skating and partying with my friends, listening to music, all kinds of goodies just living in 2010

Where have you been living?
i live at Stephen (lawyer)’s house in village park in encinitas california

Favorite skatepark in the S.D. county?
carlsbad park easily, i grew up skating there with my brother (Winfield). it just feels like home.

Why the switch from Arizona back to Enci? Why'd you leave in the first place?
summer was comin and az was getting too fucking hot, plus i missed all my friends too much to stay any longer. i left because my mom couldnt really afford to live here any longer, and my uncle who lives by himself in arizona was getting very lonely. so we decided to head back. were a close family, we take care of eachother.

Do you like it out here more?
i love arizona. i have alot of family and great friends there. its a beautiful state, but i was raised in cali and here just feels like home. i could go on for days about az though.

So you just got back from the Soggybones Magazine skateboard tour. How was it?
it was, monumental. fucking amazingly spectacular.

Ooh, moNuMeNtal... Where'd you go?
we just hit the road and headed north on the coast going from town to town. we went to san clemente, san luis obispo, san jose, and eventually stopping and staying for two days in san fran.

Was it a pretty successful trip?
fuck yes it was. the homie skoot started the trip off right straight out of the car bangers at the first spot! chens threw down 100 bucks for him to stick some nuts drop in and it just went crazy from there.

Where can we find the article?
soggybones.com, i think its the september issue right?

Yep. (AND IT WILL BE PRINTED). What was it like driving in my packed ass 3 seater truck with Greg V. and myself all the way to SF and back?
gregs a smart man, he rode bitch all the way so I had to ride it all the way back. i have long legs but greg shared space with me.i loved it dude, three sweaty ass dudes huddled up for 6 days straight. atleast we didnt have a hard time hearing eachother.

Have you been filming pretty frequently?
yeah ive been filming with my friend robbie gould, hes great. hes got his own style of filming. my old filmer however has given up his evil ways and decided to go on his mission to peru. it sucks cause he was super talented.i wish him the best though.

Who are a few of the companies you've got your eye on?
umm p$ychotic skatedecks, airspeed shoes. ive been looking for a shop to get on, maybe home depots sponsoring, theyve got good wood.. on the real though i would really appreciate anything im given. get it straight.

Nice. Can you touch your toes?
oh yeah. i stretch atleast four times a day. my friend, mentor, and manager adam knight taught me some yoga moves i stretch before and after i skate, im seriously addicted.

Give me 5 of your favorite musicians.
dylon
dylon
dylon
dylon
and bryan angel.

haha Who's dylon. After this interview, what are you going to do?
delete my facebook and get a burrito...purrrrrrrrrr

Where do you hope to see yourself in 5 years?
still being able to kickflip hopefully, that would be a blessing in itself.

Lets go get a sandwich?
im fucking down im starving blood sugars dropping OH NO WES IS HUNGRY WATCH OUT BROSS

Shout Outs:
all my friends all my family i love you and appreciate everything everyones done for me.

Closing thoughts:
i'd be nothing without my friends, the best way to find yourself is to get lost...stay posi, have fun

HA! Thanks WesT.

Soggy leftovers Part 3: andyORTEGA photos.

This is the last segment of the Soggy leftovers. Because it's the last one, I decided I'd grab a bunch of fisheye shots that Andy Ortega snapped. Andy was the backbone of the entire trip, and without him, and his constant snapping of pictures, we wouldn't have been very successful. So enjoy these, and for now... the wait begins. The article drops in September. Be sure to lurk www.soggybones.com all the time, as well as the Swamp. Peace goons.

Soggybones Tour Leftovers: Part 1

I'm going to randomly select a few pictures from my Nikon and SwampCam the next few days strictly for everyones viewing pleasures and so I don't feel like I was just wasting memory. (Even though the word "wasting" hardly fits in that sentence). The trip was simply amazing. The skate photos or spots won't get leaked, you'll all have to wait for the article for those, but they will be worth it. A lot went down in 6 days... and the trip still isn't over. See you in Part 2!
