Interview w/ Greg Valencia

Greg V. dude... I really have no idea how to even start this man. So far, this has been my favorite IV to do, one, because ever since the first time I met Greg we clicked. He is the easiest person in the world to get to know. He's incredibly friendly, and I'm convinced there is not one drip of shy-blood in his body. You literally forget you haven't known him your entire life after talking to him for a mere 10 minutes. He has came to San Marcos, turned heads of ladies and even the occasional bro-fag who's wondering "who this kid is," gotten lost, and found, and destroyed everything else in his path while doing so.

And two, simply because Greg fucking kills it on his skateboard. He has the most elegant yet raw style (on and off his board), he'll find the most peculiar spots in the world to skate--and destroy them--and he just simply lives for skateboarding man; no politics, no hating--just strictly skateboarding and my respect pours out of my mouth, and this keyboard for Greg because of that.

At the birth of this website, Greg was one of the first people I had in mind to get some words out of. An OG member of the official Swamp Ass crew, Greg has repped the swamp up the coast (to LA) and even across the states from his homeland in the city of sin itself--LAS VEGAS, and of course anywhere else his traveling soul takes him and I appreciate it too much. I was more than hyped when Greg hit me up letting me know he had a few photos and was down to do this. Also, Greg just finished up a part for a homie video, and as soon as I can I'm going to post the part because honestly... it blew my fucking mind. And let me pause for a second to mention that in no way, shape, or form am I kissing ass or telling a lie--I love the way Greg skates, and he truly possess such an artistic talent when it comes to skateboarding; he's a skateboarding artist, just like all the greats. The term "mellow-hammers" is no longer an oxymoron if your talking about Greg.

Between his fake ID that he used to use of some asian dude that looked NOTHING like him, and his amazingly sincere and strict vocabulary of slang he seems to own, Greg is a character to be around, and there is NEVER a dull moment... and who wouldn't appreciate that?

So give this kid a rip, a sexy broad, some Sabbath, maybe a few beers, and his skateboard of course... and you'll never hear a complaint man. (As if you would anyways.) To me, Greg is a prime example of the future. Skateboarding needs SKATEBOARDERS and Greg is just that. Greg's hype is based off of the feeling he gets when landing a trick, and the simple thought of the lifestyle skateboarding gives out.

Beware. This kid is coming. I'd quit the lounging if I were you too, because Greg doesn't stop--he doesn't see the point? To him it's like, "what else would I be doing?"

GV) Suhp fuhhL.. a lot of things are brood. going on with me? not a whole lot dude.. honestly just sjateboarding. like straight up.. thats it. since i recovered from my eye surgery i havent gone back to school nor worked.. skating full time holmes. fuck it.. lifes a risk.

BB) How baked are you right now?
GV) Hahaha im on a good one dude.. jus got back from filming.. got blunted crucial and jus kickin back.. did some E last night.. i was rollin 18 wheeler stee.....

BB) Where you living right now duder?
GV) Right now i am back with my mom in LA. right by venice, culver city, marina dek rey, and santa monica......ish. yeah had to move back with muh moms.. she is super fucking epic though. and she supports whatever i want to do or fuck up.. home bitch kills it. i love her dearly.


BB) Age/years skating:
GV) I jus turned 21 on the 16th of this month.. fucking hyped fuhhL. im going to slay cougars and throw away my asain fake ID... and ive been shreddin for like 8 or 9 years hahahahah damn.. long time.

BB) Why'd you start skating in the first place?
GV) My brother and his homie started skating.. i thought that shit looked brood as fuck.. i mean like fresh grip tape is one of the sexiest things low key. so yeah. skating mints my soul. im glad i found it

BB) Any skate vids getting you hyped right now?
GV) Yeah fuhhL skating in general gets my hyped.. i love the slave video. i wanna ride for them. shultz shreds heads

BB) Top 5 favorite bands/musical artist's your diggin right now?
GV) Honestly a good song is a good song. no matter what genre... but uhh black sabbath (only from 70-78/ozzy sabbath) and thats it dude.. like no joke. ozzy and i have a understanding.. he has helped me with my mind numerous times

BB) How long did it take you to grow your dread-head?
GV) Hahah like 2 years say... i dedreaded the front.. the back is still dreaded ruthlessly... its fucked up

BB) You've been on a mission to get clips lately man, and to my knowledge, your killen it---where's that footy going right now? (Who you wanna get hooked up with?)
GV) Yeah heavy missions.. like i try and film as much as possible.. like yeah dude.. gotta...and killin it? lol i dont know dude. jus skating. i jus finished a part for my friend nathan sacharow's film "Standards Forsaken" i wanna ge hooked by a few people. ive done a lot of networking being out here in LA so imma give it to the connects and see what they can do for me.. you know the deal

BB) Give me the low-down on a typical day in the life of Greg V?
GV) Okay.. i wake up on my mothers couch everymorning at 8AM.. i check my emails and watch porn til like 830.. then meet up with homies that wanna get high and shred at venice park.. skate all day.. maybe go film... then get high again.. kick back... get high then post with the homies or go find a jardy thats crackin tough. then it repeats itself

BB) You filming for any vids right now?
GV) Yes i am.. jus finished a video and my friend Trent Williams offered me a part in his video called "this is family" i film with trent a lot. fuhhLs down

BB) Reasons why L.A. is better than S.D.
GV) Hahahah everything is more together.. busy.. noisy.. something is always crackin... im down for LA.. its like my home town Las Vegas..... lights and crackin whores

BB) How often do you skate Venice parg?
GV) Low key dog like everyday.. shit never gets old. u can skate that park so many different ways.. shits fucked.. i love it. i genuinely love venice park

GV) I think its amazing dude.. like i dont know what i think about the industry or like weird shit. i jus keep my mouth shut and skate.. fuck everyones progression but yours.. thats how u get better.. on tha low low

GV) Its radical dude. like i think its great.. i really do. good shit brian
